Little Did I Know.
When I had the idea to start my own business last October, I had no idea what to expect clientele wise. I took one step at a time designing my business cards and website, building a social media platform and I prayed for potential leads. I launched The Bridal Binder January 7th and within 4 weeks I had my first lead, what?! This lead found me on Facebook and I was thrilled beyond belief. I booked the wedding three days later!
About two months after launch day, I had another lead! She was a previous co-worker and was excited to work with me and help build my portfolio. She had messaged me through my website. I booked this wedding two days later - I was feeling so blessed. I was not expecting two leads within three months but God is good and I was so ecstatic and motivated to continue marketing my business.
I joined Wedding Wire and wow, two more leads in May! Happy to announce, I have booked a third wedding!!
Goal - Check!
Before launch day I had completed a goal sheet and my goal during my first year was to book three weddings. The fact that I have met my goal in 6 months has me feeling so blessed and at a loss for words. My initial mind set was I would book one, maybe two weddings but THREE? Blessed. I am only 6 months in and I hope to book at least 2 more.
Aside from booking the weddings, I didn't initially give myself a goal in regards to side jobs such as welcome bags or invitation designs. Needless to say, my a la carte services has been thriving as well. I just completed a welcome bag order of 14 for a birthday cruise (pictures to come), I have designed a wedding postponement announcement and an evite invitation. I also opened an Etsy shop (blog coming soon) that is also thriving!
The First of Many.
My first wedding is a little over two months away, August 31st, and I am nervous yet excited. I will have a better idea of my work flow after completing my first day-of-coordination! My services for this couple start mid-July and I cannot wait to do my walk through of the venue, complete my worksheets, put the binder together to gift to the couple along with ordering the couples wedding/thank you gift in which I intend to do for all of my couples.
With being a coordinator for the three weddings, my intention is to make a great impression on their friends and families to potentially book other events through word of mouth and in-person marketing. I have high hopes for my business and so happy for the progress I have made thus far!
Emergency Kit.
Before my first wedding my next project is to put together a wedding emergency kit in which I bring with me to every wedding that includes things such as hairspray, safety pins, bobby pins, stain remover, sewing kit, etc. Essentially a "go-to" for those last minute, onset emergencies. I cannot wait to build and put together this kit!
Side note - I need to find a cute caboodle!
