Brainstorming

Future Weddings. Future Clients.

The Delay.
As the weeks go by, I haven't been writing as many blogs but I haven't stopped working on my website. In my last blog I had mentioned that my website was 75% complete and that still stands true. The one thing that is taking longer than expected is determining the details of each service. I don't want to rush through this as this is the most important aspect of my business. I want to be sure everything is set and that I am comfortable before launch day.
The other delay that is time consuming is creating my contracts and forms for clients. I have done a lot of research the past few days (8 hour car ride over the weekend) and I have found great resources to help with my forms. I have started a notebook with my references, resources and notes (yup, color coded) which helps keep everything all in one place. I have about two questionnaires completed so far for various services but my next focus is my client contract. My goal is to have that completed in the next two weeks (hopefully) but I need to finish the specifics of my services first - yes, I have made a to-do list with writing this blog.
Mrs. Kiel.
Since being married we have been to two weddings and while getting my table place setting I kept looking for "Laura Grandlund." Still getting used to the realization that I am a married woman (duh) "Laura Kiel" was the name on my assigned setting. The first wedding it felt so surreal as it was still crazy to think I was no longer a Grandlund (still bittersweet) but I kept glancing at the place setting (smiling) happy to now officially be a Kiel. The next wedding we attend (the next one planned is in 2020) I know I will be naturally looking for "Laura Kiel."
Brainstorming Ideas.
Although I plan to branch out into planning other events, wedding planning is the only thing I can relate to. I had no idea I would be starting The Bridal Binder when we attended Jeremy's best friends wedding in Maryland this past September but this past weekend (post business announcement) my husband Jeremy and I attended his cousins wedding in Clearwater Florida. Each wedding was completely different in their own, beautiful way. One was a casual barn wedding, the other a formal European garden wedding. Two totally different concepts, two totally different visions.
This past weekend (being a future event planner) I was more engaged and paid closer attention to the decor detail and overall layout of everything. I was essentially taking mental notes on ideas and different layouts. I also started looking back on the wedding we attended weeks ago in September and doing the same.

The picture at the beginning of my blog reflects our table setting assignments and part of the table decor for the wedding this past weekend. I loved the succulents and they were such a great keepsake for guests to take home. The picture to the right reflects the table decor and our place settings from the wedding we attended in September. The vases/bottles were hand painted to reflect their wedding colors (great DIY project) and the flowers were a great addition! So simple, so clean! This wedding also had a fire pit and their favor on the table for guests was a kit to make your own s'more by the fire (so delicious).
Side note - I think the only reason I have these photos was because I am still getting used to being Mrs. Kiel. This was the first thing written with my new last name and I was definitely taking in the moment - cheesy right?
Future Weddings.
I was able to go above and beyond my expectations at my own wedding and I am excited to do the same for future brides and clients. Attending these two weddings excites me for ideas I can put together to go along with the different themes each individual client will have.
Attending both weddings also reassured me that ideas are endless and I am looking forward to bringing my ideas to life and in return, a clients vision into a reality.
Maybe I can help YOU in the future.
