Launch Day.
Monday was the launch of the The Bridal Binder and wow, so far so good. Honestly the past few days have been fun. I introduced myself on social media for the world to see, I've been generating ideas for posts, hopeful clients and even local vendors have started to follow my accounts - It's been so surreal. I have had two vendors message me on Instagram and ask to be on each other's referral list for potential clients as we both have recently started our own business. How cool is that? Knowing a few vendors have reached out to me makes me realize I need to take the initiative and reach out to others.
Local vendors that have followed me include other event planners, a few photographers, make-up artists, photo booth event companies and florists. I only hope to be able to work with some of these vendors in the future.
Swag Bags.
The past few days, let alone the past few weeks, I have been researching and digging deep into potentially being an exhibitor at a local wedding and bridal expo. There are about 3 different expos that have reached back out to my interest and unfortunately (as I think I mentioned in my last blog) the cost to rent a booth is not in my price point. I know I may have to spend money to make money but to honestly spend $400-$600 for an 8 x 8 booth for 4 hours isn't ideal right now.
As I continued to scroll on their websites, two of the expos offer this "swag bag" option which is really awesome. Essentially I wouldn't have to be at the expo or pay for a booth, rather I spend $100-$175 (better than the alternative) and I would ship 150-175 "items" to the expo that would be put into each of the swag bags that are given out to each bride at the expo. Even though I wouldn't be there in person to personally market and promote The Bridal Binder but providing a business card would get my business name out there and hopefully intrigue some brides to contact me.
This swag bag option has me excited to be honest. I immediately asked my husband Jeremy, "what is something I could provide or feature?" - we brainstormed and thought of the idea of using small organza bags and have either a candle or something of that nature inside with my business card or even just a post-card alone (utilize more information) to include inside. Needless to say, this is on my promotional to-do list.
Bridal expos occur throughout the year so hopefully I will be able to put swag bag items together for late spring, early summer expos. Let the brainstorming begin.
2019 Goals.
The whole "new year new me" concept is cliche after New Year's but honestly I am going to use 2019 as a year of personal and spiritual growth. 2018 was THE best year of my life and reflecting on the past makes me confident for the future.
Taking the leap of faith and trusting the Lord to start this business, I have grown so much already in the last 2 months. I am confident in my God in which helps me find the confidence in myself. I am currently doing a 30 day shred with a few other young adult women in which we are reading the entire bible in 30 days. A new goal I have for 2019 is to make time to read the bible rather than finding the time as I struggled with this in the past.
The message stones in this blog picture reflect my mindset for this year and what I intend to focus the most on and make a priority:
Vision - Stay true to my goals.
Family - Communicate with my family more and plan trips back home.
Love - Continue to set aside quality time with my husband and increase my self-love.
Success - The Bridal Binder and seeing my business grow.
Faith - Be more obedient to God's word.
What are your goals for 2019?
