Slowly but Surely.

Website - Check.
The past several months I have been building my website and as of yesterday (November 17th) I am happy to announce that my website is complete and ready for launch! Now, I'm still not set on a launch date but I am hoping to officially launch my business to the public by January 2019. My website is unpublished so it can't be viewed yet but I was happy to get the domain I wanted (www.bridalbinderevents.com) and my email to match (bridalbinderevents@gmail.com).
Finishing my website was such a huge accomplishment for me since I have been working on it periodically the past two to three months. I can't tell you how many times I made changes. The hardest part was finding the format I liked and wanted to use. Luckily Wix.com as been extremely helpful and is so great to work with. Everything has been super straight forward in regards to editing and the tools are great and simple to use. I use Wix.com for both my blog and website.
Side note - if you want to build a website I highly suggest Wix.com.
My Inspiration.
Once I had my logo established, I began to build my website around that. The color scheme I chose for my business was Coral and Gray which was our wedding colors, my inspiration to start The Bridal Binder. I love these colors together in general and I think they compliment each other well.
In my Loco for a Logo blog I explained the process of creating my logo and after researching a few websites and playing around with a few designs, Wix.com was my best option (a great website and company all around). With Wix I was able to get an entire zip file of my logo that included pre-sized social media images and the hex color codes for the exact colors I used in my logo design. Designing my website, I was able to use the hex color codes to be sure my website and logo colors matched.
As the process continued, I was limited with choosing pictures to use for my website. As of right now, the only pictures I have to show are ones from our wedding, which was my inspiration so I'm happy to share our day with clients. Our wedding reflects my ideas and visions that were brought to life. Each picture has a story to tell. Most of the ideas were DIY projects or items I ordered at reasonable prices (budget friendly websites I would be happy to share). Knowing the websites I used, I am thinking about creating a list of each website and the items purchased as a guideline to clients looking for particular items - on my next list of to-dos.
Having a limited selection of pictures, I tried not to over use a picture more than once. However, some pictures you do see on more than one page (portfolio and decor). My portfolio includes photos from our wedding that reflect my ideas/visions and the decor page features items for rent at budget-friendly prices. As I gain clients and expand my business, I only hope to grow these pages in the future.
On my portfolio page, I wanted to give credit where credit is due and so I included the name of our photographer Monica Grace Photography and the vendor we used with each particular photo. I plan to continue this with future vendors I work with in hopes they would do the same for me.
Next Steps.
Having my website finalized, I have started creating a check-list of the forms I need to have established prior to launch date. This includes my contract, consultation forms, decor rental form, etc. I have already started my contract but I am digging deeper into the logistics.
This entire process has been a learning curve and I know I'll continue to make revisions to my website as I go. Knowing I have three different packages, I will probably have three sets of forms with different specifications and I will just edit the clients information as I book events.
As 2018 is nearing an end (crazy as that is) I am anxious yet excited at the same time to officially launch The Bridal Binder. Currently, I am working on designing business cards and maybe some post cards (debatable) to help promote my business. The next two weeks will sum up my traveling for the year and the month of December I plan on focusing on the details needed for launch day.
